Into the Sea
Jonah 1: 7-17 1 John 4: 7-12 Luke 10: 29-37
From Series: "A Great Compassion"
A sermon series on the book of Jonah. Through the first half of the fall, we've been studying the prayer book of the Bible - the Psalms. Changing courses from now until Advent, we'll turn our attention to someone who really did pray these Psalms, calling out to God in the midst of life (not to mention from the belly of a whale). How does the Church see itself in the story of Jonah? Where do we see Jesus? Join us as we consider how a tale so often tamed for children's storybooks reveals to us both the depth of our own sin and the still deeper love and mercy of our God.
